The Division of Housing and Food Service's Building Service staff is responsible for cleaning approximately 1.8 million gross square feet in 19 Campus Residence Halls. DHFS' Building Service operation employs 87 full time and 15 part-time staff during the academic school year. DHFS is committed to using sustainable products and processes. We use green chemicals where possible and we use microfiber cleaning products which greatly reduces the amount of water used.
Laundries, public restrooms, and community bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected daily. Connecting bathrooms are cleaned by Building Services at mid-term and the students are responsible for cleaning during semesters. Public spaces, hallways, and lounges are detail cleaned Monday through Friday and as needed on weekends. Offices are cleaned once a week.
