(Leadership) Dr. Madeline Maxwell, Department of Communication studies will provide practical insight about the importance of identifying the source of conflict and offer strategies for effective resolution. Dr. Maxwell coordinates the UT Conflict Resolution Center. She joined the department as an assistant professor in 1980, was promoted to associate professor, 1985, to full professor, 1994. Before that, she taught Linguistics and Deafness at The Pennsylvania State University and English at the University of Arizona and the Arizona State School for the Deaf and the Blind. She also worked as a sign language interpreter. She wrote, The Social Construction of Incompetence, in press, Lawrence Erlbaum. (co-editors Judith Duchan & Dana Kovarsky)
