Academic Community Centers
The purpose of the academic centers are to provide a strong academic support component within the residence hall community through advising, study groups, tutorials, individual and group mentoring, faculty involvement and group interaction. The academic centers within the residence halls place specific emphasis on the undergraduate student learning.
What is an Academic Community Center?
Located in Jester Center and Kinsolving Residence Halls, Academic Community Centers offer the colleges opportunities to provide on-site advising, tutoring, mentoring and other academic support services within the residence hall environment.
Through partnerships with colleges that are committed to enhancing academic support and student success outside the classroom, Residence Hall Academic Community Centers provide students with:
- an intensive environment that is conducive to learning and academic support
- increased collaboration with the colleges
- a sense of community between students, academic advisors and faculty
- opportunities for peer interaction and group study on academic issues
