HALL COORDINATOR
(Head Resident III)

PURPOSE: To coordinate the administration and student development functions of a large residence hall or area of a residential complex.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the development of a residence hall community which focuses on creating an inclusive environment, integrating academics and learning in the students? lives and creating involvement opportunities for residents. Recruit, supervise and evaluate administrative support staff, Resident Assistants and other student support staff. Administer the residence hall, including preparation of reports, budgeting, and other administrative details utilizing effective communication. Chair and/or serve on departmental and intradepartmental committees. Adjudicate student conduct cases and serve as a counselor and resource in directing residents. Advise student organizations. Encourage creative residence hall programs and activities. Provide staff development through planning workshops and presenting developmental programs to staff. Provide emergency on-call and serve on a duty rotation. Perform other related tasks as required. Selected candidate will live in a furnished apartment on campus in the residence hall community within the assigned area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree strongly preferred. Experience in university residence management and supervision of student development Relevant educational experience. Work experience in an educational environment. Strong supervisory and administrative skills. Experience working with diverse student populations, commitment to fostering student involvement, academic success for students living in residence halls. personnel. Experience in diversity programming, counseling, and conflict resolution across cultures as well as the ability to work collaboratively with members of a diverse community. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Previous experience in a supervisory capacity, an administrative position, or teaching. Experience working with young adults. Preference will be given to candidate with a master?s degree.
THIS IS A SECURITY SENSITIVE POSITION:
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, the University shall conduct criminal background checks on applicants hired as well as their spouse and/or legal dependants over the age of 17 for positions designated security sensitive.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Range is $2416 - $2558/month for a full-time, twelve (12) month appointment. A furnished apartment including washer/dryer, is provided for this required live-in position. UT Austin has a pet-policy and offers a declining balance meal plan when dining rooms are in operation. Work hours total a 40-hr work-week and include the usual office hours between 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m, but may vary to include after hours, evening, weekend and holiday hours. Excellent fringe benefits, including competitive plans covering health, dental, and life insurance. Hall Coordinators earn vacation and sick leave as well as comp time and participate in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. UT also offers relocation assistance.
STARTING DATE: August 1 (negotiable based on staffing needs).

ASSISTANT HALL COORDINATOR

PURPOSE: To coordinate the administration and student development functions of a small to mid-size residence hall.
FUNCTIONS: Participates in and supervises development activities in a residence hall unit. Develops positive relationships with students living in residence halls. Provides services as counselor in directing residents to appropriate sources for both academic and personal assistance. Assists in selection of Resident Assistants, assigns, schedules, and reviews their work. Handles routine student conduct cases and advises student groups within the residence hall. Encourages creative programming for a diverse residence hall audience. Supervises operation of hall office and prepares reports of hall activities and ongoing programs. Performs on-call responsibilities for area. Serves on Division committees. Performs related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Supervisory experience in a residence hall environment. Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership in a residence hall environment. Experience in diversity programming, counseling and conflict resolution across cultures as well as an ability to work collaboratively with members of a diverse community. Excellent interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 60 Undergraduate Semester Hours. Experience in a supervisory capacity, teaching, and student development activities in a residence hall or a university residence hall student personnel position. Experience with college student organizations. Experience advising college students. Experience working with young adults. Experience in a university residence supervisory position. Experience in a residence hall. Experience handling student problems. Registered UT Austin student throughout employment. This is a security sensitive position. A conviction verification will be conducted on the applicant selected.
THIS IS A SECURITY SENSITIVE POSITION:

SALARY:
Range is $1,445/month for a 30 hour per week, ten (10) month appointment (8/1 - 5/31) with the possibility of continuation.

PURPOSE: To oversee the operation of a large residence hall area, housing 3200 students, to meet the needs of diverse students and staff. Provide support and complete projects for the Associate Director of Residence Life.
FUNCTIONS: Select, train, and evaluate residence life staff. Direct reports include 5 full-time Hall Coordinators and a full-time Administrative Assistant. Area includes 64 Resident Assistants, two 24 hour desks and a Mail & Service Center. Coordinate student development activities through support and administration of the student development program. Respond twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to crisis calls. Administer the Business and Administrative functions of the residence hall area including the development and maintenance of a large operational budget. Serve as a liaison to other Division areas and areas outside the Division. Develop working relationaships with other departments on campus. Design and implement programs to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Work with a large student athlete population. Strive to enhance personal and area staff professional development. Perform other tasks as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in a student development field. Three years or more of experience working in a residence hall with at least two years of post-Master's experience. Experience training university residence hall staff. Experience working with university student government groups. Experience supervising graduate or professional staff. Experience in summer conference operations. Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Two years full-time experience in university residence management and supervision of student development personnel. Experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience in an administration position. Experience working with young adults. Experience handling student issues. Experience working with diverse groups of students and staff while fostering an environment where diversity is valued. Experience with judicial and crisis case management. This is a security sensitive position. A conviction verification will be conducted on the applicant selected.
SALARY & BENEFITS: Annual salary is $45,000 or more, depending upon qualifications, for a full-time appointment. This is a live-off position. Work hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, but vary to include after-hours meetings, weekends, or on-call tasks.
