Life on campus, a story in three acts. The residence halls are grouped into three communities: Whitis Area, Waller Creek, and Jester. Each community has a different feel, and they all offer different chances for involvement, events, and leadership. So which one is best? It's all up to who you are, what you like, and where you want to be on campus.

Tucked in the northwest corner of campus, the Whitis Area is made up of several unique halls, from the elegant beauty of Littlefield (the oldest hall on campus) to the contemporary design of Duren. Whether you prefer the Honors halls in the Quad (Andrews, Blanton, and Carothers) or the all-female-power of Kinsolving and Littlefield, this is the kind of community where it's easy to find the home that's right for you.

It would be hard to say the residents of the Waller Creek community have more Texas pride than their fellow students, but it is telling that they choose to live in the shadow of the DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Scattered along Waller Creek, these halls range from small and steeped in UT history (Brackenridge, Roberts, and Prather) to the big (San Jacinto). Creekside, located on the north side of campus, is the university's only remaining male-only hall.

Jester Center is kind of like UT itself - it's huge, but that also means it has everything and there are lots of opportunities to find friends, fun, and yourself. Two towers make up Jester on the south side of campus, close to the business school, the PCL, and the Blanton Museum. Jester is home to J2, the university's largest dining hall, as well as lecture classrooms and study rooms.

**Starting Fall 2012, please note that Littlefield and Prather Hall have restricted visitation (no overnight visitation of the opposite gender). All other halls, no restrictions on gender with roommate approval as noted in the Roommate Agreement.

Accommodations vary by hall. Some have partially built-in furniture and/or a vanity area in the room. Some halls feature bunkable or loftable beds.

All halls have study rooms, TV rooms, vending areas and laundry rooms. All rooms have cable TV, Internet access (ResNet via subscription) and a MicroFridge. Single space is limited and most are occupied by returning residents.

Flooring

• Student rooms are not carpeted.
• A 5' X 8' area rug will work in all rooms. It is recommended that you check into your room prior to purchasing a larger rug or carpeting.

Window Covering

• Windows in student rooms have aluminum blinds.
• Students may add draperies or valances if desired (spring-loaded tension rods are advised).
• Check into your room and measure your window prior to making purchases.

Sheets
All residence halls require extra long twin sheets.

Accessible Accommodations
If you have a medical or disability-related need that impacts where you will live, please indicate the type of accommodation you will require in the space provided on your housing application. You will need to submit a request and documentation to SSD (Services for Students with Disabilities). They will review the documentation you provide and forward our office the recommendations regarding your housing accommodations. All disability information will be kept confidential within the SSD office. Your request will not be processed unless you submit the documentation to SSD. Supplemental Housing
DHFS feels strongly about offering the experience of living on campus to as many students as possible. Living on campus is an important part of the college experience.
