SustainabilityDHFS Green Team
The DHFS Green Team began in 2009 as a way to engage staff from all areas of the division in the development and promotion of DHFS' sustainability initiatives. In 2011, the Green Team expanded to include student leaders and other interested residents. The Green Team is dedicated to promoting these ideas and acting in accordance with the sustainability mission of the Division of Student Affairs and the University.

DHFS Green Team - Functions, Task and Membership
Membership
- Members must have an interest in environmental stewardship
- Members serve a minimum of one semester and can stay on the committee indefinitely
- Attend monthly meetings
Member Functions
- Create and maintain an active interest in sustainability initiatives
- Serve as communicators between management and the employees
- Help set sustainability policies in motion
- Motivate and educate employees to participate in all aspects of DHFS sustainability initiatives
- Assist the Environmental Specialist in carrying out sustainability initiatives
- Identify/investigate potentially unsustainable practices
- Find ways to eliminate or reduce the negative impact of those practices
Tasks
- Provide recommendations to management
- Conduct and review self-inspection reports
- Monitor, conduct and/or assist in sustainability trainings
- Establish specific objectives and goals
- Develop guidelines and policies
