Get to Know...FMS Student Associate Zach Sustaita
How long have you worked in Food Service at the University of Texas at Austin?
I have been working in the FMS office for almost two years.
What were you doing prior to coming to DHFS?
Prior to coming to DHFS, I was a high school student.
What is your favorite thing to cook when you are at home?
I enjoy the heck out of cooking, so that's a tough question! The answer is most likely my homemade chili.
What is your favorite thing to eat when you are Dining Here?
I have to give credit where credit is due. It is, hands down, any sandwich or salad from Cypress Bend. If you want two pieces of bread, they'll give it to you. On the other hand, if you want the most ostentatious, possibly best homemade-style sandwich on campus, they'll put it together for you.
What is your favorite restaurant in Austin?
Although it is no longer open, The Filling Station on Barton Springs was my favorite.
When you are not at work, what do you like to do?
I love being outdoors. Camping, hiking, and fishing are things you can catch me doing in my free time. When I visit my family, you can rarely catch us inside the house.
Do you have any advice or tips for students, staff or visitors to the UT campus?
Always be prepared! Check the weather forecast in advance. I see so many people walking around with the Daily Texan draped over their heads trying to stay dry when the rain starts.
