Greetings!
Mission and ValuesWelcome to The University of Texas at Austin and the University Residence Halls. We are happy that you have chosen to live with us this year. The staff of the University Residence Halls believes that the most important decision you make after selecting an educational institution is "your home away from home."
In selecting our residence halls you chose facilities, services and staff that are an important part of your educational opportunities at the university. The residence halls have always played a special role in education and student development at the university. By being more than a place to eat and sleep while attending college, the residence halls provide opportunities for students to experience a sense of community, with shared commitment and social responsibility.
Our housing program seeks to provide new freshman students with the opportunity to live in university housing, to support them in the transition year by providing special programs and experiences, and to facilitate their overall success at the university.
We are dedicated to working with you to provide a comfortable, friendly environment that is conducive to the aspirations and achievements of a community of scholars. Included in this handbook are important University Residence Hall rules and regulations. These were developed to serve the community's best interests.
The rules and regulations in this handbook are an integral and binding part of your residence hall terms and conditions. In addition, you are responsible for the information contained in your University Residence Halls Contract Terms and Conditions. We hope that you will find your residential community supportive and responsive to your needs.
