SUMMER SESSION 1997

MAY 20
TUESDAY. Registration and fee bill payment for students in the School of Law.
MAY 21
WEDNESDAY. Classes begin in the School of Law for first-term two- and three-hour courses, whole-session four-hour courses, and clinics.
MAY 26
MONDAY. Memorial Day holiday.
MAY 27
TUESDAY. Fourth class day in the School of Law; this is the date the official enrollment count is taken in the School of Law.
MAY 27-29
TUESDAY-THURSDAY. Add/drop for the summer session for students who have registered and paid their fees.
MAY 28
WEDNESDAY. Credit by exam and required placement testing begins.
MAY 30
FRIDAY. Deadline for graduate students to be registered in absentia for the summer session.
New student orientation begins.
Summer residence halls open at 9:00 AM.
JUNE 2
MONDAY. Student Health Center benefits become available to all students.
JUNE 2-3
MONDAY-TUESDAY. Registration for the summer session. Students who register on June 2-3 will register for all courses to be taken during the summer session; to complete registration, fees must be paid no later than 4:30 PM.
JUNE 4
WEDNESDAY. Classes begin except in the School of Law.
JUNE 5
THURSDAY. Last day of the official add/drop period except in the School of Law; after this date, changes in registration require the approval of the chairman and usually the student's dean. (See General Information, chapter 4, for required approvals.)
Last day to apply for a graduate degree.
JUNE 9
MONDAY. Fourth class day except in the School of Law; this is the date the official enrollment count is taken.
Last day an undergraduate student may add a course except for rare and extenuating circumstances.
Payment for added courses (add bill) due.
Last day to drop a course for a possible refund.
Last day a graduate student may, with the required approvals, add a course.
JUNE 10
TUESDAY. Last day a student may submit notice of planned absences in the summer session for the observance of religious holy days. (See General Information, chapter 4, for requirements.)
JUNE 11
WEDNESDAY. Registration for the fall semester for students who entered the University for the first time in the current summer session.
JUNE 17
TUESDAY. Last day to drop a course without a possible academic penalty. (See General Information, chapter 4, for required approvals.)
JUNE 18
WEDNESDAY. Last class day for first-term two-hour courses in the School of Law.
JUNE 19
THURSDAY. Reading day for first-term two-hour courses in the School of Law.
JUNE 20, 23
FRIDAY, MONDAY. Final examinations for first-term two-hour courses in the School of Law.
JUNE 24
TUESDAY. Last day a student may change registration in a course to or from the pass/fail or credit/no credit basis.

FRIDAY. Last class day for first-term three-hour courses in the School of Law.
