Darcy Barrick, Assistant Director of the UT Learning Center, is the recipient of the 2008 UT Staff Excellence Award. Darcy directs the Academic Counseling program at the Learning Center, and was recognized for her invaluable contributions to the university's continued success.
The UT Learning Center has been selected to receive the 2007 National College Learning Center Association/Frank L. Christ Outstanding Learning Center Award. The annual award gives national recognition to work accomplished by learning centers and fosters their future growth and development. The UT Learning Center, a component of the Division of Student Affairs, helped more than 13,000 students last year with tutoring services and academic counseling.
The Eyes of Texas, an anonymous campus organization dedicated to unselfish devotion to the University, has chosen ten new honorees for The Eyes of Texas Excellence awards for spring semester 2005. Student members of the organization select honorees who have made an outstanding contribution to student life at The University of Texas. The award is given to ten deserving University faculty, administration, or staff members each semester.
