Peer Academic Coaching matches interested students with a trained peer coach for ongoing advice on how to study effectively for UT courses.
Each session is tailored to a student's particular needs, but common topics addressed in a session include the following:
Participants meet once a week for an hour with their peer coach, typically for the duration of a semester.
Yes. Peer coaches are certified by the College Reading and Learning Association and are supervised by professional learning specialists. They receive, on average, thirty hours of training annually.
The cost of the program is currently covered by the UT Learning Center.
Students new to the University should visit the UT Learning Center in Jester A332A; all other students can complete a questionnaire to request participation in PAC, through our online services. Once you are logged in, click on "Academic Coaching - Get A Coach." Students who have never used UT Learning Center Services will need to start with "Claim a Password" when first visiting this site. If you need assistance, call 471-3614 between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday.
Participants are accepted into the program on a rolling basis until the program is full.
