Alan Constant
Director
Alan Constant, M.A. is Director of the UT Learning Center, an organization that provides high-quality learning assistance to more than 15,000 UT students each year. He is responsible for the administration of all UT Learning Center programs including program development, personnel matters, budget and space resources, program evaluation and accountability, interface with other campus agencies, and development of the UT Learning Center as a national program model.
Alan holds a MA in history. He has taught history, study skills, reading, and GRE preparation classes at the University of Texas, in addition to presenting conference papers in a variety of disciplines. He was a coordinator of the Learning Center's Supplemental Instruction program and the director of UT's Tutoring program. Since 2000, he has served as the director of the UT Learning Center.
Alan and his wife Kathleen are avid scuba divers and travelers. They have each made more than 250 dives at shipwrecks and reefs around the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, and Florida. Their daughter, Lauren, is a recent UT graduate.
