Tutoring
|
For a small fee, the UT Learning Center provides one-on-one appointment tutoring for many lower-division UT classes. One-to-one appointment tutoring may be ideal for you if you have specific questions about concepts covered in class or homework problems that require more time than Drop-In Tutoring can provide.
Our Appointment Tutoring program is internationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Certification means that the UT Learning Center meets internationally accepted standards for tutor selection, tutor training, and tutor evaluation, as well as for overall program management and evaluation.
The goal of our tutoring program is to help you become an independent learner. To that end, tutors will provide guidance and instruction to help you with your coursework, but they will not do your work for you.
Students requesting tutoring should first come to the UT Learning Center main office in Jester A332A to register for the appropriate service. Making an appointment with a UT Learning Center tutor is easy and convenient. After an initial visit to the Center, students can make tutoring appointments from the convenience of their home computer, or should they prefer, from any computer with Internet access. If neither of these is feasible, then the staff at the Learning Center will be happy to arrange appointments for students.
