The Winter Institute for Learning Assistance Professionals features presentations, workshops, and participant dialogue on a theme relating to a particular aspect of learning assistance. The Winter Institute is designed to provide participants with learning experiences that can be translated into practical action at participants' home institutions.
This year, the event will feature presenters Cassandre Alvarado, Tamara Clunis, Ed Fernandez, Russ Hodges, Karon Mathews, Joel McGee, David Ochsner, and Gale Stuart.
In addition to learning center professionals, recent attendees have included faculty, academic advisors, and administrators from both Student and Academic Affairs.
Realizing that many campuses are facing additional economic challenges this year, we have worked to find ways to reduce costs for this Winter Institute, including a change of venue as well as scaling back amenities. Therefore, we are very pleased to let you know that there is no registration fee for this year's Institute! In addition to an impressive line-up of session presenters, we are providing lunch both days. You just need to arrange for your accommodations, if staying overnight, and for parking and additional meals.
Winter Institute 2010 will be held at The University of Texas at Austin. The event is directed by Alan Constant, Ed Fernandez, Darcy Barrick, and Pamela Way from the UT Learning Center.
