Andy Greer gave a report on the QuickTime Live Conference held in Beverly Hills, California, February 11-14, 2002. Overall, the conference lacked time to explore the topics laid out. There was too much information trying to be pushed into too little time.
Demonstrations of "We're Texas Impact Video" were given. We looked at the work done by Dan Benner (QuickTime format), Dana Deloca (RealMedia format), Brian Eckstein (DivX format), and Quinn Stewart (WindowsMediaPlayer format).
Discusson on the various videos followed comparing quality of motion, color, file size, etc. A matrix containing all the videos will be created with the same information on each video available.
Next was discussion on creating "Digital Video Guidelines". Work will continue on that project.
A request was made by Diane Gierisch for folks to send her audio and video content that the University currently has. This information is being compiled for possible inclusion in the Digital Knowledge Gateway.
