Notes from Digital Video Producers Meeting on November 20, 2002

Andy Greer demonstrated the use of QT Broadcaster. Take a look at the handout. David Fudell commented on the problems he's had with audio and QT Broadcaster. CIT said after they get it started it works great.

Discussion followed on hardware encoders: Minerva and VBrick systems.

Quinn Stewart gave a review of Cleaner 6. It will encode WMS format, RM and QT formats but you have to perform some gyrations to get it all done. For instance, to encode RM files you have to go to OS 9. To encode QT format, you have to go to QTPro and do a "pass through" which doubles the file size. In general, he's hoping they provide some fixes for it soon. Quinn mentioned the 2 ISMA profiles, ISMA Profile 0 adn ISMA Profile 1. Apple and Real claim to be MPEG-4 compliant with ISMA profiles.
