Learning to Publish Statistics for Calendar Year 2003

The Learning to Publish section of the UT Web is designed as a reference for UT Austin Web publishers. It contains tutorials and reference materials on important Web technologies from HTML and PHP to Flash and RealMedia. In 2003, most of the site was converted to the standard Web Central templates.Overall, the site received just over one millon page views (1,042,820) in calendar year 2003. This is a 20% increase from last year. Also of note is a 10% decrease in the number of page views for the main learning to Publish index. This page contains links to all of the material. This decrease is probably a result of more people discovering these pages from search engines, specifically google. For example, a search of google for the phrase "flash examples" will return our Flash tutorial on the first page of results.

In addition to the Learning to Publish section of the Web, staff also maintain the University Web Guidelines and Digital Video guidelines. These sites received over 160,000 combined page views in calendar year 2003.

The table below shows total number of page views for each section of Learning to Publish. The Usefulness column also contains the average site rating that visitors gave to the site on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the most useful.
