Saturday, March 3, 11 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Join us for Explore UT, a campus-wide event described as the “Biggest Open House in Texas!” Visitors of all ages have the opportunity to experience a variety of programs that are engaging and inspiring.


FREE activities for the whole-family include:

Ongoing: Arts and crafts, fossil identifications in the Paleo Lab, exploration of specimens at booths hosted by Texas Natural Science Center scientists, and digging in the Fossil Dig Pit

Timed Presentations:

11 a.m.-1 p.m.Music Expedition
This new family-friendly activity combines musical games and a scavenger hunt with short interactive concerts by students from UT's Butler School of Music. Students will perform music relating to the museum's exhibits and offer clues for the scavenger hunt.

11 a.m.-3 p.m.Fun Fish Facts
See a diversity of fishes from the Gulf of Mexico and discover fun and interesting facts about each.

2-2:40 p.m.Meet a Fossil Preparator: presented by Laura Naski
See the “tools of the trade” and learn how fossils are cleaned, repaired and made ready for exhibit, research and teaching.
