Mosasaur (Mosasaurus maximus) Vertebra Seats
These seats are modeled after a vertebra from a mosasaur, a large marine reptile that lived during the Cretaceous Period. See the full skeleton of the Onion Creek Mosasaur, found southeast of downtown Austin, on display in the Museum’s Hall of Geology and Paleontology.
The original vertebra is 3-4 inches in length. These seats are 8 times life-size.
