Explore Evolution

Texas Memorial Museum’s interactive learning center, Explore Evolution, gives a modern shine to Charles Darwin's 149-year-old theory on evolution. Through multimedia and interactive displays, Explore Evolution offers visitors engaging opportunities to learn about recent contributions to our understanding of biological evolution.

The exhibit features current scientific research and major discoveries by internationally recognized scientists, including the Texas Natural Science Center’s Director, Dr. Ed Theriot. Seven exhibit sections illustrate the principles of evolution and show how they are fundamental to advances in contemporary science and medicine.

Educators are invited to learn about current research in evolutionary biology in hands-on Evolution Professional Development workshops provided by the Texas Natural Science Center.

Explore Evolution was developed by museum partners at the University of Kansas, University of Michigan, the Science Museum of Minnesota, University of Nebraska, University of Oklahoma and The University of Texas at Austin, as well as 4-H programs in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, and Wyoming.
