Priscilla Delano M.S.
"Priscilla comes to the NPL via her home state of Virginia. She will graduate in 2002 from Smith College with a degree in Geology and Marine Science. Paleontology’s cool, but she likes the living stuff too. She likes geology because it takes her to sunny places – the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Belize, and Austin, Texas. Priscilla has enjoyed seeing some neat fossils and working with great people during her summer internship at the NPL."
Comment: During her stay Priscilla was involved in all aspects of a collection especially the ongoing creation of the rudist taxonomic collection. She graduated from Smith College in 2002 and went on to become a research assistant at the NOAA Beaufort Lab.
"I got my MS in Geography last year from Johns Hopkins University, and I am back working at the NOAA lab in Beaufort, NC. Our research focuses on the impacts of sea level change and coastal development on area salt marshes.
I will definitely come for a visit if I am in Austin. I did enjoy the time I spent at the NPL, even in the warehouse with no AC!"
