Chelsea Luce
Chelsea joined us in 2002 and worked her way through all the early acetate peels of the rudists specimens. Some of these peels were 35 years old and
beginning to deteriorate. Chelsea scanned them so that we would always be able to view those peels even if they became too fragile to handle physically. There were thousands of these peels and all were scanned in this project.
Chelsea was partially sponsored by the work study program of the University of Texas at Austin.
Comment: We still use this technique to study certain large specimens and the link to Ana York's work shows one such specimen and takes you through the process of making such a peel.
