About Our Funding and Fundraising
- The Texas Natural Science Center operates on an annual budget of $1 million, with approximately 85% funding from The University of Texas at Austin and 15% funding from the Texas Legislature. These funds pay for salaries and basic operating expenses. All other operational aspects of all educational programs are funded with donations from individuals, corporations and foundations.
- 100% of the Museum’s membership fees, as well as profits from The Museum Store and guided tours are used to enhance the Museum’s educational programs for children.
