Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District

The Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District (BS/EACD) was created in 1987 by the 70th Legislature with a directive to conserve, protect and enhance the groundwater resources of the Barton Springs segment of the aquifer.   

Edwards Aquifer Authority

The Edwards Aquifer Authority is committed to manage and protect the Edwards Aquifer System and to work with others to ensure the entire region of a sustainable, adequate, high quality, cost effective supply of water, now and in the future. 

Texas Natural Resources Information System

Use this website to download 1 meter resolution DOQs for the entire state of Texas. You can also download available 2.5 meter DOQQs, DRGs, TxDOT, DEMs, Hillshades, and more.

This site provides on-line downloads for various USGS maps.  If you are downloading 1 meter resolution you'll need a free program like the Mr Sid ExpressView Browser Plug-in to view them.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Texas Parks and Wildlife has a number of caving projects ongoing on various Texas State Parks.  These projects are sponsored by the Texas Speleological Association (TSA) and cave records are maintained by the Texas Speleological Survey.

Texas Water Development Board

The Texas Water Development Board’s (TWDB) mission is To provide leadership, planning, financial assistance, information, and education for the conservation and responsible development of water for Texas.  Our mission is a vital part of Texas’ overall vision and its mission and goals which relate to maintaining the viability of the state’s natural resources, health and economic development.

The Texas Water Board is involved in the management of at least one major spring cave in Texas.
