The Navajo Nation Collection

Photo of the hind limb of the dinosaurThe hind limb of the dinosaur Dilophosaurus wetherilli, still in its field jacket, collected during a collaborative expedition by VPL staff and students, and Navajo Nation Eco-Scouts.

Work undertaken in collaboration with the Seba Dalkai School of the Navajo Nation, and under permits granted by the Navajo Nation, has led to a growing collection of Early Jurassic vertebrates from northern Arizona. These collections are held in trust for the Navajo Nation while they are studied by Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory personnel.
