Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory: Student Field Opportunities

The quarry in the Early Jurassic Kayenta Formation of northern Arizona is shown in the photo on the right. It was excavated by students at the University of Texas at Austin and members of the Seba Dalkai Eco-Scouts program of the Navajo nation.  It yielded a partial skeleton of the rare dinosaur Dilophosaurus wetherilli.
