Student Assistant

  • Department: Information Center
  • Description: This position with the Texas Union Information Center will be responsible for answering questions and providing customer assistance. Duties include answering phone calls, using a computer and a cash register, restocking supplies, and other related tasks as assigned.
  • Preferred Qualifications: An outgoing person with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Cash handling or retail experience. Good communication skills. Knowledge of the University. Experience using a web browser.

  • Requirements:
    To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
    • UT student registered for at least 6 credit hours for Spring< summer, or Fall 2008.

    Student Assistant - Informal Class Driver

    • Department: Informal Class
    • Description: This position will be responsible for the delivery of the IClass catalog to locations in and around UT and the Austin area. The driver will use a University of Texas vehicle for the deliveries. Other duties as assigned. Working conditions will include driving, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Previous customer service experience. General computer skills. Responsibility and attention to detail. A clear driving record. Possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
    • Hours: up to 15 per week

    • Pay Rate: $7.50
    • Requirements:
      UT or other college student registered or going to register for at least 6 credit hours Fall 2008. • Valid Class C drivers license and good driving record. • Available to work two or three shifts of three to four consecutive hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.

    Student Assistant

    • Description: This position as a Building Monitor in the Texas Union has the purpose of assisting in building and patron security. Duties include frequent patrols of assigned building areas, escorting nightly deposits, and contributing to a shift report.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Retail or other customer service experience. Experience as a security guard.
