The calendar lists events and deadlines relevant to current and prospective BDP students and faculty. Although some events are specific to certain BDPs, they are open to any BDP student who is interested in attending. Please visit often, as events are regularly added and modified. We invite prospective students to attend a weekly information session.

April 8-12
Connecting Experience Check-In #2
All students who are completing spring 2013 Connecting Experiences will be required to attend a small group check-in meeting with a BDP advisor and other BDP students. Details will be outlined in an email sent out in late-March.
April 11
Petitions due
Any students who wish to petition coursework not listed on the curriculum to be considered for their BDP certificate, must submit a petition form to the faculty panel for review in May. Petitions are due by 5pm in FAC 338. Please consult your BDP advisor if you have any questions about the process.
April 16
BDP Annual Poster Session
As a part of Research Week BDP students will have the opportunity to showcase work from their research, internship, and creative project Connecting Experiences. BDP students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend. The poster session will be from 2:30-4pm in MAI 212.
May 1
ACE/Americorps Information Session
ACE places AmeriCorps members in low-income elementary schools in Austin to serve as full-time literacy tutors and provide one-on-one instruction to struggling readers in kindergarten through second grade. ACE is currently hiring over 100 AmeriCorps members to serve with our program from September 2013 to June 2014. The information session will be at 2pm at the School of Information in room 1.212. Spring Connecting Experience Reflection Essay Deadline
Reflection Essays are due for students participating in spring 2013 Connecting Experiences. For instruction forms and more information, please see our Connecting Experiences Resources page. Submit your Reflection Essay online through the Reflection Essay submission form.

Grade Reporting Deadline for Spring Connecting Experiences
Faculty mentors for BDP students enrolled in BDP Connecting Experience courses numbers (310, 311, 320, 321) for spring 2013 Connecting Experiences are required to submit grades online by 10am. Please contact the BDP office at 232-7564 with any questions.

Contract and Scholarship Application Deadline for all Summer Connecting Experiences in the U.S.

BDP Certificate Ceremony for May Graduates
Students planning to graduate in spring 2013 with a BDP certificate will receive a formal invitation and further details via email.
