The BDP Student Cabinet acts as the student voice for the BDPs. The Cabinet works in collaboration with the BDP coordinator and advisors to organize community-building events, develop new initiatives, and brainstorm new ways of enhancing the BDPs. Amanda Aguirre is the representative to the Student Cabinet for Social Inequality, Health, and Policy.

Through the Social Inequality, Health & Policy certificate, Angela hopes to explore the prevention and treatment of disease in the international community. She plans to study AIDS prevention for women and children.
“As a Sociology major, I have interests not only in how sociological theory is formulated, but also how it is implemented in the political context. The Social Inequality, Health, and Policy BDP provided an outlet for me to take courses and gain experience in this area, without having to declare multiple majors or extend my tenure at the University.”
