For Students
Students looking for information about core curriculum requirements should visit the UGS Core Curriculum page.
The cycle for reviewing Signature Course proposals begins in late spring or early summer of each academic year, with a final deadline in October. All faculty members must have the approval of the department chair before submitting a proposal. Proposals that do not have chair approval will not be considered by your dean or by the Signature Course selection committee. Once a proposal is submitted, it will be routed to your dean for approval and then sent to the School of Undergraduate Studies for final review.
We encourage all Signature Course instructors to propose flags early. Those who are interested in adding a flag to their UGS 302 or 303 Signature Course should propose flags even if they are awaiting approval of their Signature Course proposal. Note that all UGS 302 seminar courses will carry the Writing flag at the course level, so faculty members teaching UGS 302 do not need to apply for a Writing flag.
