Courses

Undergraduate Studies oversees Signature Courses (UGS 302 and UGS 303), which are taught by faculty from other colleges and schools at UT Austin.

First-year Interest Groups are cohorts of up to 25 first-year students who develop community by taking two to four classes together, and by participating in a weekly seminar facilitated by a peer mentor and staff member.

Bridging Disciplines Programs offer courses for students enrolled in one of 11 interdisciplinary concentrations.

Undergraduate researchers may be eligible to receive course credit for participating in research. Please review the guidelines to find out more.

Undergraduate Studies is responsible for the core curriculum and flagged courses offered by other UT Austin colleges and schools. Please visit the core requirements page for more information about which courses fulfill the core, or the current Course Schedule for a listing of courses satisfying the flag requirements.

If you are enrolled in Undergraduate Studies and interested in registering for courses, please visit our advising page for information about meeting with your advisor.

Students who fail to meet minimum passing standards are required to enroll in a course designed to strengthen skills in reading, writing, or mathematics. Please visit our Texas Success Initiative page for more detailed information.
