Internal Transfer Session List

Many programs offer internal transfer (IT) information sessions during the fall and spring semesters. Attendance is highly recommended and, in some cases, required in order to apply to transfer. McCombs School of Business
College of Communication

Cockrell School of Engineering
Jackson School of Geosciences
School of Nursing
Psychology

School of Architecture
IT sessions are mandatory for any non-architecture student who is interested in meeting with advisors in the School of Architecture. Applications are due the first Monday in March for fall admission.

Internal transfer information sessions take place in the fall only. Prospective internal transfer students should contact Mandy Davidson, Academic Advisor, at 512-471-4525, or Katrina Kosted, Academic Advising Coordinator, at 512-471-0109 with any questions.

McCombs School of Business
Students interested in applying to McCombs are strongly encouraged to attend an Internal Transfer information session to learn about the application requirements and decision process and to have any questions answered.

College of Communication
Learn about the requirements for internal transfer to the College of Communication and have your questions answered by the IT advisor. You are required to attend an internal transfer session in order to see an advisor in the College of Communication.

Computer Sciences (College of Natural Sciences)
The Department of Computer Sciences restricts some upper-division courses to declared C S majors. Therfore, we encourage students who are considering a dual degree or major degree change to attend one of our Internal Transfer Sessions. Major admission requirements and procedures will be reviewed prior to the October 5th and March 15th application deadlines. An academic advisor will also discuss opportunities for students to maximize their career potential, including an 18-hour Elements of Computing Certificate, 5-year B.S./M.S. Integrated Degree, and more.

College of Education
Attendance at an internal transfer information session is not required, but it is recommended.

Cockrell School of Engineering
Attendance at an internal transfer information sessions is not required to apply for an internal transfer, but you must attend one before you will be permitted to schedule an appointment with an advisor in the School of Engineering.

Jackson School of Geosciences
Prospective students are encouraged to attend an internal transfer information session, but it is not required. Degree programs will be discussed and questions answered.

School of Nursing
Attendance at an information session is required for application to the Nursing program. Please visit the Internal Transfer Website to register.

Psychology: College of Liberal Arts
Attending an internal transfer information session is required to be eligible for admission to the Psychology major. The intent of these sessions is to enhance your understanding of psychology as a major at UT Austin and therefore help you determine if psychology is the right major for you.
