College-based FIGs

College-based FIGs consist of students in the same major or department, and every incoming first-year student is eligible to participate. Most college-based FIGs are fall semester only, but a few carry on into the spring semester. These FIGs are noted as year-long in our brochure.

For information on each college-based FIG, please visit our brochures page and download the brochure for your college.

Students interested in enrolling in a college-based FIG should talk with their academic advisors during summer orientation.

One example of a College-Based FIG is our Interdisciplinary FIG for students interested in a career in law. This FIG “Pre Law” would include:

  • UGS 001 FIG Seminar
  • UGS 303 Law in Human Society
  • PHL 304 Contemporary Moral Problems

If you have any questions about College-based FIGs, please contact us at fig@uts.cc.utexas.edu.
