College-based FIGs

Students in the same major or department form college-based FIGs. Every incoming first-year student is eligible to participate. Most college-based FIGs end with the conclusion of the fall semester, but a few carry on into the spring semester. These FIGs are noted as year-long in our brochure, which will be published online in the spring.

One example of a College-Based FIG is our Fall 2009 Interdisciplinary FIG for students interested in a career in law. This “Pre-Law” FIG includes

  • UGS 001 FIG Seminar
  • UGS 303 Law in Human Society
  • PHL 304 Contemporary Moral Problems

Students interested in enrolling in a college-based FIG should talk with their academic advisors during summer orientation. If you have any questions about College-based FIGs, please contact us.
