Gateway FIGs

The Gateway Scholars Program is a multi-year program designed to facilitate and enhance students’ transition from high school to college and beyond. We support our students to ultimately be successful in college and to prepare them for their future after graduation from the University of Texas at Austin. Weekly seminars will focus on college success strategies, along with critical thinking and writing skills designed around the signature course, Race in the Age of Obama. The staff strives to make students feel at home, provide them the support to succeed, and give them the tools to navigate through their collegiate journey.

Your FIG clustered classes provide you with an additional college connection. Students in your FIG cluster have the advantage of taking classes together where you can form study groups, benefit from the additional support provided by our staff and participate in discussions about your career paths.
