Transfer Interest Groups

Transfer Interest Groups (TrIGs) are only offered by a small number of colleges and schools on campus. If you would like to find out if your college offers TrIGs, please speak to your academic advisor.

A Transfer Interest Group (TrIG) is a group of 20 new transfer students who attend a weekly one-hour seminar facilitated by an academic advisor and a transfer student peer mentor and take at least one academic class together. The TrIG Program is a great way to personalize your UT experience and build on what you already know about how to succeed in college.

Benefits of the TrIG Program

  • gain knowledge about UT resources
  • meet other transfer students with common academic interests
  • explore major and career options in more depth
  • discuss academic expectations and timelines
  • have regular contact with a peer mentor and an academic advisor
  • fulfill degree requirements
