The Center for the Skills & Experience Flags (CSEF) in the School of Undergraduate Studies provides resources and support for the general education shared by all undergraduates at The University of Texas at Austin. Our goal is to facilitate delivery of the curriculum that helps our students become critical thinkers and informed, broadly educated citizens.
The final deadline for instructors to propose a course to be flagged for fall 2016, Feb. 16, 2016. The deadline for courses to be flagged for spring 2017 is April 11, 2016. For more information about how the Flag Proposal Deadlines work, please visit the Flag Deadline Info page.

Three $6000 Sustainability Course Development Awards Available
We are pleased to announce the third annual open competition for course development funds to create three new undergraduate courses that investigate sustainability issues as they intersect with one or more flag areas. School of Undergraduate Studies Writing Flag Contest
We are pleased to announce the first annual Writing Flag Award, honoring the best writing produced by UT undergraduates in courses carrying the Writing Flag. Prizes will be awarded in three categories—Research, Persuasive/Critical, and Creative/Reflective—to student work that best demonstrates clarity, inventiveness, and intellectual rigor.
