Who's Invited

The university invites rising high school seniors to participate in the Honors Colloquium. Most students invited to participate are identified using data provided by the Student Search Service of the College Board. They come primarily from Texas high schools, but selected out-of-state schools are also represented. Many participants will eventually be named National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Finalists and Scholars, and compete for the university’s honor programs.

As space permits, other outstanding students may be invited to participate based on a review of a student’s high school transcript, letters of recommendation, or statement of student interest.
