Travel & Parking

You are responsible for making travel arrangements to and from Austin. Whether you arrive by air, bus, or car, university staff members will meet you and escort you to Jester Center for registration. They will be wearing Honors Colloquium shirts and name tags. Directions to The University of Texas can be found here.

The Jester Center is located on the corner of 21st Street and Speedway (201 East 21st Street, Austin). Limited self-pay parking is available at the Brazos Garage.

Arrival & Departure by Plane or Bus

We will provide free shuttle service to Jester Center from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the bus station from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 19. At the airport, please look for our staff at the Honors Colloquium table located at the west end of the baggage claim area.

On Saturday, confirm your shuttle service at the transportation table and check out at Jester Center. Be ready to leave ninety minutes prior to your departure time. Shuttles depart Jester Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Arrival by Car

If you drive yourself to campus, you must leave your car parked in the garage for the duration of the Colloquium. Limited parking is available in the Brazos Garage for 18 dollars per day.

The Brazos Garage operates with a “pay on foot” system. Collect a ticket as you enter the garage. When you are ready to retrieve your car, present the garage ticket at the centrally located cashier before returning to your car. After you have paid for your parking, you have approximately 20 minutes to exit the garage using your ticket. The Colloquium is not able to pay for or validate parking garage tickets.

Travel Changes

If you make any changes in your travel plans, notify us by updating your Travel Information through Monday, July 16, 2012. After this day, please call the University Honors Center at 512-471-6524. On Thursday, July 19, please call the Colloquium office at Jester Center at 512-471-4050.
