Longhorn Learning Communities

What is a Longhorn Learning Community?

A Longhorn Learning Community (LLC) is a group of selected first-year Longhorn Scholars who share a common class experience. These students will attend a one-hour mandatory weekly seminar focused on first-semester college issues during the fall semester.

Peer Mentors

LLC Peer Mentors will collaborate with a Longhorn Scholars advisor to facilitate a one-hour weekly seminar during the fall semester. They assist with class preparation and discussions. Mentors are also required to complete 15 hours of mentoring in addition to the weekly seminar with their LLC students. The time commitment is approximately two to three hours each week.
