2 UGS Staffers Win Outstanding Awards

Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDP) Advisor Christine Anderson and Student Development Specialist James Tolleson will receive outstanding staff awards. Awards are given to 30 staff members from the university, out of a total pool of 16,000 staff members. Recipients must have a significant impact on the university through outstanding dedication, competence, conscientious performance, excellent customer service, and ingenuity. BDP Advising Coordinator Lauren Campbell commended Christine’s “wonderful service to UGS and our students,” and James’s supervisor, Senior Program Coordinator Kathy Uitvlugt, noted his outstanding contributions to Undergraduate Studies.

Award Criteria

Staff awards are given to current UT Austin Classified and Administrative/Professional staff members who were continuously employed for at least 20 hours per week from September 1, 2009, to August 31, 2011. Recipients must demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics:

  • contribute to and demonstrate a commitment to the university’s core purpose and values, have significantly improved customer service or increased customer satisfaction for specific university customers
  • Have significantly improved a work process or system or have significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or unit
  • Have demonstrated an exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication, and cooperation among colleagues and university constituents
  • Have performed at a level above and beyond normal job requirements
