UGS Week is a series of events that offers students enrolled in the School of Undergraduate Studies the chance to learn more about the many paths and majors at UT Austin. Hosted by the school’s Student Council, the week’s various activities provide a great way for students to meet with the dean and to connect with other students. “The majors mixer was a great opportunity for people like me who want to know more about a particular major though the eyes of a student,” recalled Stephanie Reyna, council president. “And the Student Panel helped us understand that we aren’t alone in transferring from UGS to another major; there are so many other students who have worked towards finding their own majors that make them truly happy.”
The Undergraduate Studies Council (UGSC) is the official representative student organization for the School of Undergraduate Studies. The Council provides a platform for Undergraduate Studies students to explore leadership while planning and executing beneficial events and activities for fellow students. “UGS Council means a lot to me,” commented Senate Representative Emily Smith. “It’s especially important for students in this school to have a community and access to events that can help them navigate their college experiences.”
