This fall, the School of Undergraduate Studies’s inaugural Forty Acres Scholar, Steffi Lee, will receive a full-ride, merit-based scholarship. The Oldham Family Forty Acres Scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees, offers a living stipend and book stipend, and provides for enrichment activities.
Lee will receive funding from the scholarship even after she transfers out of Undergraduate Studies, as all UGS students must. The Forty Acres Scholars program, administered by Texas Exes, began in 2011.
“The Forty Acres Scholarships create a community of some of our best undergraduates,” said Undergraduate Studies Dean Brent Iverson. “Being part of the Forty Acres Scholars family has lasting benefits that extend well beyond these students’ time at UT.”
Dudley Oldham (BA, History & Chemistry, ’64; LLB/JD, ’66) and Judy White Oldham (BA, Liberal Arts, ’63) first met in the Plan II Honors Program in the early 1960s. Dudley and Judy are involved in many aspects of the University of Texas at Austin, as are their two sons, Steve and Mike. While at UT, Judy was a member of Tri Delta and Orange Jackets. She was named a Goodfellow during her senior year. Dudley was president of Sigma Chi fraternity and an officer in the Texas Cowboys.
