Scholarship Program
The Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin is committed to the encouragement and promotion of academic excellence in the Austin area. Central to this mission is the Association’s scholarship program which honors and facilitates academic achievement in the region. The Association currently offers High School scholarships to graduating AISD high school seniors, Adult Baccalaureate scholarships to adult students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts or sciences and the Cordelia McWilliams Gilbert Memorial Scholarship to a Phi Beta Kappa member enrolled as a junior at University of Texas at Austin to support research for an undergraduate honors thesis.
Students who wish to be considered for one of these awards should submit the appropriate application form to the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Texas. Complete applications should be postmarked no later than March 25, 2012.
High School Scholarships
The Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin offers scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
PBKAAGA High School Scholarship Application
Students who wish to be considered for the High School Scholarships should download and complete the High School Scholarship Application Form. Please follow all directions and note that applications must be postmarked no later than March 25, 2012.
Eligibility
Applicants must be high school seniors who are graduating from the Austin Independent School District and who will be enrolled in a college or university in the following academic year. Applicants must be in the top 10% of their graduating classes. Recipients are not restricted to any particular college or university or any major or discipline.
Adult Baccalaureate Scholarships
The Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin offers adult baccalaureate scholarships to adult students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts or sciences.

Students who wish to be considered for the Adult Baccalaureate Scholarships should download and complete the Adult Baccalaureate Scholarship Application Form. Please follow all directions and note that applications must be postmarked no later than March 25, 2012.
Eligibility
The association is committed to supporting those students who, along with demonstrating academic excellence, have a need for financial support. Continuing students are eligible if they:
- are enrolled at Concordia University, Huston-Tillotson College, St. Edward’s University, or the University of Texas at Austin
- are seeking first baccalaureate degree
- have earned more than 30 credits
- are at least 24 years old
- are pursuing an academic program that includes liberal arts and sciences
- have demonstrated academic excellence
- are well recommended by faculty
Cordelia McWilliams Gilbert Memorial Scholarship
The Cordelia McWilliams Gilbert Memorial Scholarship is available to newly elected Phi Beta Kappa members who are enrolled as a junior at University of Texas at Austin to support research for an undergraduate honors thesis.
