UGS Ambassadors

School of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) Ambassadors share their experiences in UGS with prospective students, current UT students, and the UT community. They represent the school at outreach events, such as UGS information sessions, and assist with various school events. We provide training on each program to complement the Ambassadors’ unique perspectives.

Positions for 2014-15 are available beginning May 2014. Although positions typically extend through May 2015, reappointments are processed each semester (summer, fall, spring) based on performance and availability.

Position Requirements

Ambassadors must be current undergraduate students in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university. They are expected to be familiar with all of the programs and services of the School of Undergraduate Studies and to share that information with a variety of audiences in a professional manner.

UGS Ambassadors will be assigned to events at the discretion of the Student Development and Outreach Specialist, who will survey Ambassadors regarding their availability at the beginnings of semesters and as needed. Ambassadors are paid an hourly rate and are appointed as Student Assistants.

Applications for 2014-15 positions are now available. Interested students must apply online and submit their professional resume to Chelsea Bunn. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 16.

2013-14 Ambassadors

  • Josh Alvarez is a senior studying sociology with a business foundation. He is a former UGS transfer student.
  • Natalie Arevalo is a senior majoring in English. She served on the committee that helped to select the current Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Brent Iverson. She is a former UGS student.
  • Lyndsey Chong is a senior double majoring in economics and psychology. She is a former UGS transfer student.
  • Lora Chowdhury is a senior majoring in economics and is a FIG peer mentor. She is also pursuing a BDP certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Non-profits.
  • Catie Cleary is a senior majoring in rhetoric and writing. She is also pursuing a BDP certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Non-profits.
  • Paul Freeman is a junior majoring in rhetoric and writing. He is pursuing a BDP certificate and is an active member of the Undergraduate Studies Council. He is a former UGS student.
  • Stephanie Reyna is a junior studying corporate communications. Stephanie aspires to a law degree. She is a former UGS student.
  • Armando Vera is a senior double majoring in international relations and corporate communication. He is a former UGS student and the inaugural recipient of the UGS Summer Exploration Grant.
  • Emily Williams is a senior studying international relations and middle eastern studies. She is a former UGS student.
