For Students

Research Week is all about showcasing the exciting research and creative work that undergraduates are pursuing every day at UT Austin, and there are various ways students can get involved.

Would you like to present your work during Research Week 2013?

Research Week is a great opportunity for you to share your research or creative work with others. Presenting your work at a poster session, symposium, or exhibit gives you the chance to receive feedback on your work, and it gives you an impressive credential as you’re applying to graduate schools or jobs. Check with your academic advisor or your faculty mentor to see if there are opportunities to present your work at an event hosted by your college or department. Deadlines for college and departmental events vary, and you should contact your academic advisor for details.

You may also wish to consider participating in the poster session or exhibition of student creative work at the Longhorn Research Bazaar on April 17, 2013. The extended deadline to submit an abstract for the Longhorn Research Bazaar is March 22, 2013. Students who wish to showcase their creative work at the Bazaar should adapt responses to the abstract submission form as needed (for example, the “abstract” should include a description of your project or what you plan to demonstrate).

SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT FOR THE BAZAAR

Questions about the Longhorn Research Bazaar should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Research.

Are you a member of a student organization?

Are you part of a student organization that connects with undergraduate research or creative activity? Host a table at the Longhorn Research Bazaar on Wednesday, April 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Held at the Gregory Gym, the Bazaar is a festive event where student organizations, departments, and other programs from across campus highlight their activities and opportunities for student involvement. Participating in the Bazaar offers you the chance to publicize your organization to other students, hand out informational materials, and showcase the work your organization does. The extended deadline to reserve a table is March 22, 2013.

If your student organization would like to host its own Research Week event, independent of the Longhorn Research Bazaar, you may organize that event and register it for inclusion on the Research Week events calendar.

The extended deadline to register your organization’s event or to reserve a table at the Bazaar is March 22, 2013.
