Research Week showcases the exciting research and creative work that undergraduates are pursuing every day at UT. There are a number of ways students can get involved.
Share your research or creative work with others. By presenting at a poster session, symposium, or exhibit, you can receive feedback on your work and gain an impressive credential for applying to graduate schools or jobs. Check with your academic advisor or your faculty mentor to see if there are opportunities to present your work at an event hosted by your college or department. Deadlines for college and departmental events vary, and you should contact your academic advisor for details.
You may also wish to participate in the poster session or exhibition of student creative work at the Longhorn Research Bazaar on April 20, 2016. The deadline to submit an abstract for the Longhorn Research Bazaar will be Friday, March 11, 2016.
Students who plan to present a research poster at the Longhorn Research Bazaar must attend a poster design workshop through the Office of Undergraduate Research or through their department or program. Register for a poster workshop offered by the Office of Undergraduate Research.
Student organizations that connect with undergraduate research or creative activity are invited to host a table at the Longhorn Research Bazaar on Wednesday, April 20, noon-2 p.m. Held at the Union Ballroom, the Bazaar is a festive event where student organizations, departments, and other programs from across campus highlight their activities and opportunities for student involvement. By hosting a table at the Bazaar, you can publicize your organization and showcase products, creative work, and artifacts resulting from student work. (If your research or creative activity does not involve the display of a physical artifact, please submit an abstract for a poster using the link above.) All tables have been reserved for the 2016 Longhorn Research Bazaar.
If your student organization would like to host its own Research Week event independent of the Longhorn Research Bazaar, register it on the Research Week events calendar. Please consider consulting the current events calendar before finalizing your event to reduce the chances that it will conflict with another event that has already been registered. The final deadline to register an event or submit event updates for the printed program will be Thursday, April 7, 2016. Changes or additions to the online events calendar may occur after the deadline, but we cannot guarantee their placement in the printed program.
