Signature Courses

The Signature Course is the centerpiece of the curriculum reform that began with the alumni on the Commission of 125 and was developed by a task force of faculty and students. Signature Courses start UT students’ academic experience with top faculty teaching intellectually rigorous classes covering nearly every subject the University has to offer.

Though all students planning to graduate under the 2010-2012 Undergraduate Catalog or later will be required to complete a First-Year Signature Course, students planning to graduate under the 2008-2010 Undergraduate Catalog are only required to complete the course if they are earning a degree from one of the following colleges:

College of Communication
College of Education
Jackson School of Geosciences
College of Liberal Arts
School of Nursing
