For the past two year, Mansi has been a Sanger Learning Center peer academic coach helping students master important study techniques.

“Take advantage of the resources available to you, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.”

What has been the most rewarding part about working at the Sanger Learning Center?
It’s been so rewarding to help students progress academically and see them come to their own conclusions through reflection, insight, and experimentation. Furthermore, it has been rewarding to build and create relationships with students.

What has been the most surprising or unexpected part of your job?
In my time as a coach, I’ve become a better listener more in tune with others’ needs. I’ve learned to give positive reinforcement as a means of motivation, and help people reach solutions and conclusions on their own. It’s surprising how much I’ve learned about myself. I’ve engaged in a lot of reflection for the kind of person, leader, and coach I want to be.

What advice would you give to incoming students on how to be academically successful at UT?
Take advantage of the resources available to you, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it, make goals and always let them be your driving force!
