Some suggestions made by the committee remain under review while others were implemented and continue to inform UGS procedures. The committee met its charge and was disbanded in fall 2011.

Use of Technology Committee
Fall 2010-Fall 2011

The purpose of this committee was to share information, identify IT needs in the School of Undergraduate Studies, and develop recommendations for school-wide priorities in the use of new technologies. After several committee recommendations were implemented—such as magnetic card strip readers in all advising offices to aid student check-in, a central UGS chat server so all staff can communicate quickly with one another via instant message, and a “UGS Help” wiki to provide a central repository of technology tutorials—the committee sponsor determined that a committee format was not as useful as ongoing communication of such information. The committee disbanded in fall 2011.
