  • Participate in culture programs, tours, interest sessions and recreational events to get a taste of the university's resources for enrichment
  • Experience aspects of life on campus firsthand as a University of Texas at Austin undergraduate while staying in Jester Center with support from an exceptional group of student mentors

Through your participation in the Honors Colloquium, you can glimpse the value of a challenging university environment that brings together young women and men who learn together.

Who attends?

Students swarm the University's South Mall.

This year the university will invite more than 3500 rising high-school seniors to participate in the Honors Colloquium. Most students invited to participate are identified using data provided by the Student Search Service of the College Board. They come primarily from Texas high schools, but selected out-of-state schools are also represented. Many participants will eventually be named National Merit, National Achievement Finalists, or National Hispanic Scholars, and compete for the university's most attractive scholarships and honor programs. Typically, about 700 students attend the program.

As space permits, other outstanding students may be invited to participate based on a review of a student's high school transcript, letters of recommendation, or statement of student interest.

Self-Nomination Process
