All Archer Fellows will participate in an internship of their choosing. The Archer Program is an extraordinary opportunity for you to live and work in our nation’s capital city and take advantage of all that it has to offer. Students should think of their dream job opportunity in D.C. and go from there. Archer Fellows are responsible for researching and applying for internships on their own, but the Archer Center is there to guide and assist throughout the process. Archer Fellows have developed a fantastic reputation as high-quality interns, so each semester it becomes easier and easier for our students to get placed. See the list of past internship placements for more ideas.
Archer Fellows are required to intern at least 32 hours per week, but most work a full 40-hour week. The vast majority of internships are unpaid. There are a few exceptions, but students should not expect to earn an income in D.C. You are prohibited from having an outside job while in Washington. Archer activities, a full time internship, and a full academic course load will keep you busy.
